Robert J. Cury became involved in yachting in 1980 while designing yacht interiors with a Fort Lauderdale design firm. During this time, Bob learned how to accurately read blueprints, floor plans and arrangement drawings; skills which would serve him well throughout the next twenty years.

In 1983, Bob became a yacht designer at Hatteras of Lauderdale where he designed a very successful line of ”signature” yachts, the highly regarded “Lauderdale Lady” line. Realizing that the sale of yachts could be more lucrative than designing their interiors, Bob moved into yacht sales full-time in the fall of 1983. The following year, he was awarded “Salesman of the Year” by AMF Hatteras Yachts for the highest sales of Hatteras yachts in the international network. By 1985, Bob was promoted to Sales Manager and continued to receive distinguished sales awards from Hatteras Yachts for five consecutive years.

In 1988 Bob was invited to join Broward Marine. He was responsible for setting up and organizing the new brokerage division, known as Broward Yacht Sales. Here, Bob learned the specifics of new yacht construction and was responsible for working closely with owners throughout the entire design, construction, and delivery process.

Bob was appointed Director of Sales for Broward Marine’s brokerage division in 1993. His efforts resulted in his personally selling more than 50% of the company’s entire production since 1993.

In 1997, Bob opened the doors of RJC Yacht Sales and began his own brokerage firm.

The cumulative experience of having worked with Hatteras Yachts and Broward Marine has resulted in a yacht brokerage firm specializing in the sale of larger, late model Broward and Hatteras motor yachts and sport fishermen.

In addition to specializing in vessels manufactured by these builders, Bob has personally visited several other builders around the world including; the Feadship facilities of Devries and Van Lent based in Holland, the Benetti and Codecasa Shipyards based in Viareggio Italy, Trinity Shipyard in Mississippi, Christensen Shipyard and Westport Yachts based in Washington, the Delta Marine Shipyard based in Seattle, Cooper Queenship in Canada, Palmer Johnson in Sturgeon Bay, WI, and the Derecktor Shipyard in New York as well as many others.

Bob is thrilled to announce his association with Trinity’s largest new construction, New Horizon, a 242-ft Quad-deck motor yacht, from its inception.  RJC Yacht Sales has been involved with this project for a repeat client every step of the way.

This varied background in design, brokerage and new construction allows Bob the expertise to provide you with a comprehensive knowledge of both the existing yacht market as well as new construction.

Whether marketing a Broward, Hatteras or other fine vessel, or selecting a suitable yacht for purchase, Bob offers the highest level of knowledge, professionalism and honesty in an effort to initiate and maintain long-term relationships.
